MagTone LightBeat Pedal – Clicktrack Visualisierung mit roter LED

Need the Click? Hearing It on Stage Isn’t Always an Option.

The drummer plays to a click — but you do not want to wear in-ear monitors. This is where conventional solutions fall short:

In-Ear-Monitoring

Expensive, often isolating and it can reduce the natural stage atmosphere and room sound.

Audible Metronome

Loud, distracting and, in the worst case, picked up by vocal microphones or heard by the audience.

Standalone Tempo Light

Generates its own tempo and can drift away from the click used by your drummer or DAW.

What Is the MagTone LightBeat?

The MagTone LightBeat is a click track visualizer in a compact guitar-pedal format. It converts an incoming line-level audio signal — such as a metronome or click track — into a silent, synchronized LED pulse.

LightBeat does not generate its own tempo. Instead, it displays the exact click signal it receives. No wireless connection, app or digital configuration is required. Connect multiple LightBeat units to the same source and they will all flash in sync.

Ready in 10 Seconds

1

Connect

Run a 6.35 mm (1/4-inch) cable from the click output of your mixer, audio interface, metronome or drum machine into LightBeat. Connect a standard 9 V DC power supply — done.

3

Adjust the Brightness

Use the control knob to adjust the input sensitivity and LED brightness. Set it for clear visibility, even under bright stage lighting.

3

See the Beat

The LED flashes exactly in time with the incoming signal. If your click runs at 120 BPM, LightBeat flashes at 120 BPM — always synchronized.

Who Is LightBeat For?

Bands without In-Ear-Monitoring

The drummer hears the click while guitarists, bassists and singers see it. Use one LightBeat per musician and every unit will flash in sync.

TV & Live Productions

Send performers a visual timing cue without routing the click into the audience mix — as demonstrated during a nationwide ZDF production.

Orchestras & Conductors

Send the tempo visually to the conductor — a solution already used by the Saarländisches Staatsorchester.

Studios, Rehearsal Rooms & Music Lessons

Use LightBeat for count-ins, as a visual metronome next to a keyboard or as immediate timing feedback for students — silent and intuitive.

Proven in Front of Millions of Viewers

During a nationwide ZDF television broadcast LightBeat was used to transmit the tempo live and visually to the conductor of the Saarländischen Statesorchestra — without a single earpiece.

If LightBeat works under the pressure of a live television production, it will work on your stage too.

★★★★★

„Works perfectly and exactly as expected. I use LightBeat to visualize the metronome signal from my keyboard — a Roland RD-2000 connected via the Sub Out. It helps me count in, and the LED brightness is easy to adjust."

Frequently Asked Questions About LightBeat

What is a visual metronome or silent metronome?

A visual metronome displays the beat visually instead of playing it through a speaker — for example, with a flashing LED. LightBeat goes one step further: it does not generate its own tempo. Instead, it turns the existing click track from your band, DAW or metronome into a visible light signal. This keeps it perfectly synchronized with the master click.

What is the difference between LightBeat and a standard tempo light?

A standard tempo light usually has a built-in metronome and generates its own beat. LightBeat receives the click signal from your band, mixer, DAW or metronome and displays it as a synchronized LED pulse — with no drift and no separate synchronization required.

Can I use multiple LightBeat units at the same time?

Yes. Multiple LightBeat units can be connected to the same signal source and will flash perfectly in sync. This is ideal for bands in which every musician needs to see the same visual click track.

Does LightBeat work with my DAW or drum machine?

Yes. LightBeat works with any device that provides a suitable click or line-level output via a 6.35 mm / 1/4-inch jack. This includes Ableton Live, Logic Pro, Pro Tools, drum machines, keyboards with a Sub Out, mixers and metronomes.

Can I mount LightBeat on my pedalboard?

Yes. LightBeat uses a standard guitar-pedal format and runs on 9 V DC, just like most guitar effects pedals.

Do I need a technician to set it up?

No. LightBeat is ready to use in around 10 seconds: connect a 9 V power supply, plug the cable into the click output, adjust the sensitivity and LED brightness — done. No pairing, app or configuration required.

Is LightBeat used by professional musicians and productions?

Yes. LightBeat was used during a nationwide ZDF television broadcast to provide the conductor of the Saarländisches Staatsorchester with a live visual tempo signal.

Is LightBeat suitable for singers?

Yes. Singers can follow the click visually while keeping their natural perception of the stage and room sound — without wearing an earpiece.
